RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT

The Research & Development District (RaDD) is downtown San Diego's most ambitious urban life science project, spanning eight acres, six city blocks, and destined to become the largest urban commercial waterfront site on California's Pacific coast.

Designed by Gensler, RaDD is a dynamic mixed-use campus anchored by mid-rise structures and a 17-story tower at the heart of the waterfront. Ground-floor retail, restaurants, a public paseo, roof decks, and green spaces create the kind of urban density that doesn't just house innovation. It generates it. A new model for how cities invest in the intersection of research, community, and commerce. Working directly with the development team, I captured photography of the architectural model renderings and produced construction videography to power production assets across print and digital. The work translated a project still taking shape into compelling visual communication, making the vision tangible and the ambition undeniable.
